A romantic comedy armed with chocolate!

The wife and daughter of a Bulgarian Major conspire to hide an enemy soldier. The soldier is a very practical man, who carries chocolate instead of bullets and scoffs at foolish heroics. He slips away, wearing the major's coat and carrying the daughter's portrait.

Will the daughter's fiance fight a duel with the soldier, or marry the maid instead?

This is one of Shaw's most popular comedies, full of secrets, confusions, discoveries and surprises.
